Travis Ismay gave yet another great statement during public comment on August 1, 2023. He noted how they seemed to violate open meetings laws and the First Amendment and how what they did at the last meeting ended up getting him on a nationally syndicated talk show to talk about what happened.
While Travis was the only one listed to speak, Belle Fourche city attorney Kellen Willert also got up to speak and seemed to give a rebuttal to the public statement Travis made at the previous meeting. Willert also pushed the commission to move public comment to the end of the meeting, leaving us to wonder why Willert is so passionate about such a thing and how he was allowed to say that the commission made “knucklehead decisions” without being interrupted, shut down and thrown out.
