Enjoy this guest post from Government Watch South Dakota which includes a plethora of research articles about potential risks of stroke and lung diseases due to chronic marijuana use!
The bottom line overall seems to be that a blanket approach that works fast on allowing whole states, one by one, to quickly legalize medical marijuana, which leads to recreational marijuana, which then leads to hard drugs, is dangerous, in my opinion, especially when research on the long-term effects of marijuana doesn’t exist yet. If medical benefits exist, it’s ok to take the time to really know and understand it while keeping the harmful use of marijuana at bay. We need legislation to reflect that; we need legislations that allows law enforcement to fully enforce the law, to protect against the law being abused, and our current state law for South Dakota does not do that.
