Travis Ismay Points Out Truths On Current Initiated Ballot Measures in South Dakota

Posted on August 31, 2023

Travis Ismay posted his thoughts on social media recently to point out some truths and suggestions for research for voters concerning the 2024 election: “For all of you people out there that think that the state of South Dakota is going to have a giant tax influx because of the legalization of marijuana, you might want to look into this (The initiated amendment prohibiting taxes on anything sold for human consumption). If this ballot initiative passes the state will not receive one penny from marijuana in any form because it is consumed by humans. Our state is not going to benefit at all from legalizing marijuana. In fact if we continue the trend of every other state, we are looking at a major catastrophe in every category you can imagine including financially, morally and environmentally. Please do your own research into this, look into who is backing these ballot initiatives. It might surprise you. Why would somebody that is trying to push an amendment to our constitution for the legalization of abortion support this tax initiative?”

And now, when we look at other states who decriminalized drugs, they’re now seeing the consequences of those choices and seem to be regretting it. As Travis said, “There is no need to get to this point before you realize the legalization of drugs does not work.” Read on for more:
